Nisha Rasaily: Sikkim’s Dance Powerhouse Shaping the National Stage

From the cultural heart of Gangtok to India’s biggest dance platforms, Nisha Rasaily has emerged as one of the most dynamic and influential choreographers of her generation. Nisha Rasaily first rose to fame after winning High Fever – Dance Ka Naya Tevar in 2018, alongside her partner Tara Prasad. Their victory, along with a grand prize of β‚Ή10 lakh, marked the beginning of her national journey.

However, her story goes much deeper. A professionally trained Kathak dancer, she left Sikkim in 2011 to pursue her dreams, dedicating years to refining her craft. Her six-year tenure at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon helped her gain valuable stage and production experience before moving to Mumbai.

In 2025, Rasaily served as the choreographer for Devotart, a folk-fusion group from Sikkim that made history by becoming the first act from the state to receive a Golden Buzzer on India’s Got Talent. Her choreography played a key role in bringing Sikkim’s cultural richness to a national audience.

Mero Dance Universe Season 2

As the Head of Choreography (HOC) for Mero Dance Universe in 2025, she was widely praised for her innovative approach. By blending traditional Nepali forms like the Maruni dance with contemporary styles, she created performances that were both culturally rooted and globally appealing.
